Orthognathic Surgery (Jaw Surgery)

If the upper and lower jaws do not match in size it may not be possible to correct the bite with braces only. Sometimes it will be necessary to have jaw surgery to move the jaws into a better position during orthodontic treatment. Jaw surgery is done by an Oral Surgeon. Patients who have jaw surgery will generally require braces but some patients can have Invisalign. Jaw surgery is also know as Orthognathic Surgery.
